“A knock on the window pane”, grâce à l’emprunt de symboles appartenant à diverses religions et mythologies, se construit  autour du concept de hiérophanie et, propose aux spectateurs une déambulation dans le champ du sacré et de sa révélation.

Les nombres ont une signification qualitative et symbolisent, comme toute chose, des réalités d'ordre supérieur. Le nombre trois ne déroge évidemment pas à cette loi.

L' exposition se construit autour de trois pièces, architecture ternaire qui reprend celle des dogmes fondamentaux et révèle l’importance qu’occupent les triades, dans la constitution de ceux-ci. 

Le titre nous transporte dans l’univers des esprits frappeurs et toutes les croyances qu’il véhicule, mais plus qu’une référence directe à ces traditions ce qui intéresse Sophie Bueno-Boutellier est le fonctionnement de ces croyances: comment cette manière de penser qui admet, au delà du rationnel, des vérités sans qu'il soit nécessaire de les confirmer, ni même possible de les démentir, pourrait être appliquée au processus créatif.

 En cherchant à appréhender ces mécanismes de la foi et en les appliquant à son propre processus de création, Sophie Bueno-Boutelleir tente de démontrer que la création et la perception artistique peut permettre de relier l’homme au monde du divin. 

Pour sa deuxième exposition personnelle à la galerie Cardenas-Bellanger, Sophie Bueno-Boutellier propose donc d'explorer le sens de ces interrogations et de dévoiler comment le sacré peut être encore aujourd'hui un élément essentiel pour la compréhension de l'art ainsi qu'un réservoir de formes pour les artistes actuels.

Sophie Bueno-Boutellier vit et travaille à Berlin. Elle a récemment exposé à Chert, et Circus à Berlin, elle est actuellement nominée pour le Prix Fondation d'Entreprise Ricard, et sera prochainement incluse dans Antidote 5 aux Galerie des Galeries Lafayette à Paris.



“A knock on the window pane”, thanks to the borrowing of symbols belonging to various religions and mythologies, is built around the concept of hiérophany, and proposes a voyage to the field of the sacred.

Numbers have a qualitative significance and can symbolize, like most things, a reality of a higher order. As the number three does not deviate from this law, this exhibition is built around three parts, a tertiary structure which lies against fundamental dogmas and reveals the importance of that trinity.  

The title transports us to a world of the spirit and all the beliefs which that may convey. But more than a direct reference to these traditions, what interests Sophie Bueno-Boutellier is the function of these beliefs: how this manner of thinking beyond the rational, of truths that need not be rationalized, nor contradicted, can be applied to the creative process.

While seeking to appropriate these mechanisms of faith and applying them to her own practice, Sophie Bueno-Boutelleir attempts to show that the creative process can connect man to the world of the divine.  

For her second exhibition at Cardenas Bellanger, Sophie Bueno-Boutellier proposes an investigation to these questions, and attempts to reveal how the sacred can still be an essential component in the creation of a reservoir of forms and for the appreciation of aesthetic experience.

Sophie Bueno-Boutellier lives and works in Berlin. She has recently exhibited at Chert, and Circus in Berlin, is currently a nominee for the Prix Fondation d'Entreprise Ricard, and will be included in the upcoming edition of Antidote 5 at the Galerie des Galeries Lafayette in Paris.
